Join Cong Walking Tours for a majestic and historical tour of Cong 6th Century Abbey. hear all about the robin hood of Cong, the famous horse Venus, King of Connacht and High King of Ireland, Rory O’Connor.

The walk will start at the Hands of Fame at 12 and take in the old canal, walking around Cong village, the risings of the waters, old turbine/cong jail, salmon hatchery, mcnamaras house, the curlew project, the small and big abbey bridges one of which is minded by King Roderick O Connor and the other Patrick Prendergast, the monks fishing house, fishers of men instalation, ha ha’s, some of the guinness trees, cong woods and the huge variety of trees including monteray pines, cedars and the european common silvers as well as the tallest of them all (Californian redwood). Also the walk will take in Teach Aille and the beauty of the Cong river finishing back at the hands of fame having passed the twisted chimney and the Harry Clarke windows in in the local catholic church.
