My name is JJ Higgins and I had my first swarm of
bees from a monk at the local monastery in 1960
and so began Corofin Apiaries. We have been
keeping bees and providing honey to the local area
ever since.

Connacht Pale Ale- Please click here

“Connacht Pale Ale”  is brewed on the West
Coast of Ireland. A beer made of a
delicate blend of aromatic hops with a
solid malt profile combining to create
a well-rounded citrus and spicy flavour
with a rich honey colour. Like many craft beers this Pale Ale was
created on a small home brew kit and is now produced on a
commercial level and is growing in popularity throughout the west
of Ireland.

Puddleducks Cafe was opened by Fiona McMahon in main
street Cong with the aim of producing uncomplicated food
using seasonal and local ingredients. Located on a prominent
corner in the very pretty village of Cong, Co Mayo, Puddleducks
is just the place to drop in for a wholesome meal or snack, at
any time of day. The baked goods here are not to be missed,
Fiona is most famous for her Chocolate Brownie,Lemon Drizzle
Cake & Rhubarb Pies, recipes handed down from generations.

Ryan’s Butchers was established in the early 1960’s by Tom and
Helen Ryan. Their passion for food and locally sourced produce
has been passed on to us and we continuously strive to follow
the example they have set and the Ryan name has always been
synonymous with quality. Thomas and Michelle were wed in 2007.
It was around this time that Michelle, who had come from a long
line of quality cooks, with recipes passed down to her from both
her mother and grandmother, took an interest in taking over the
kitchen responsibilities. Ryan’s Food Emporium opened its doors
in 2010 and continues to develop its commitment to delicious,
locally sourced meat and fish as well as home baked breads,
including Michelle’s famous Ginger Guinness Fruit Bread.

The restaurant sits right on the
border of Galway and Mayo and
it is there where we source most
of our produce. Locally smoked
salmon from the nearby village of Cornamona, beef and pork
from Kelly’s of Newport, coffee roasted in Westport, bottled
water from the nearby hills of Tourmakeady, shellfish from Killary
Harbour and fish such as hake and mackerel from Galway Bay.
Our menus are small and uncomplicated so that we can focus on
keeping the food as fresh and tasty as possible. Lastly, our cafe
is small and simple and we pride ourselves on giving a welcome
and good old fashioned Irish hospitality to all our guests.
